This exhibition presents the art scene of Britain in the 1960s and
1970s, viewed through the activities of Editions Alecto, the most
important print publishers of the day. Britain made a central
contribution to the Pop Art movement during this period, much of it
through the medium of printmaking.
Editions Alecto was a small company set up in 1960, commissioning and
selling graphics by contemporary artists. By streamlining the process of
production and distribution of artists’ prints in the UK, the company
supported the creation of some of the most iconic images in post-war
British Art. The exhibition features work by many leading artists of the
past forty years, including David Hockney, Eduardo Paolozzi, Patrick
Caulfield and Allen Jones. The
Exhibition is accompanied by a new book
about Editions Alecto which provides a complete catalogue and
concordance of Editions Alecto prints. Allen
Jones - Limited Edition Poster - signed by the artist
