Pufferfish, in the family Tetraodontidae. The pattern on the back suggests a
checkered puffer, Sphoeroides testudineus. However, all puffers have truncated tails
unlike the fish in the illustration. The checkered puffer is found in Bermuda and in the
bays and creeks along the Gulf of Mexico coast and south to Brazil.

(Fish notes by Richard Lord, Guernsey)

Current distribution of illustrated botanical species:

(upper) Bahama, Florida, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands
