Mutton snapper, Lutjanus analis, are pinkish-red fish with a pointed anal fin and a
distinctive black spot below the origin of the soft dorsal fin and above the lateral line.
The spot is missing in the illustration. They live around Bermuda and from the
Northern Gulf of Mexico to Brazil. They grow to a weight of 25 lbs. and a length of 2.5
feet.
