This is most likely a spotted moray eel, Gymnothorax moringa. Moray eels lack
pectoral fins, which distinguishes them from the snake eels found in the area. The
spotted moray eel grows to a length of 3 feet. It is common in shallow rocky areas
around Bermuda, and from the Gulf of Mexico to Brazil.
