The Pudding-Wife and the Carolina Whiting

Puddingwife, Halichoeres radiatus, is a member of the wrasse family, Labridae. It
grows to a length of over 1 1/2 feet and lives in shallow tropical waters from the Gulf
of Mexico to the coast of Brazil.

Carolina whiting refers in North and South Carolina and in Virginia to small fish in the
croaker or drum family, sciaenidae. This fish could be a croaker called southern
kingfish, Mentricirrhus americanus, based on the name given to the fish but the
illustration only looks like a croaker. It is not accurate enough to determine species.
