around Bermuda, Florida, and the Bahamian islands and south to Brazil.
The schoolmaster, Lutjanus apodus, belongs to the snapper family, which has 105
members. The schoolmaster grows to a maximum length of 2 feet and a maximum
weight of 8 pounds. It lives in the warm waters around Bermuda, in the Northern Gulf
of Mexico and south to Brazil.
