Margate, Haemulon album, is a member of the grunt family, haemulidae, which has
about 175 species living in tropical waters. The margate lives around Bermuda,
Florida and the Bahamas and is found as far south as Brazil. It grows to a length of 2
feet.
The species illustrated as 'the Sea Sparrow-Hawk' is a member of the lizardfish
family, synodontidae. Eight species live in US waters of the Western Atlantic. They
are primarily water warm fishes. They live on the bottom waiting to snatch prey.
