It is believed that this drawing was made by Bartram when he was sixteen years of
age 1755-1756. Both Elsa Allen and Joseph Ewan have noted that the paper is of
different texture from that of the other drawings in the Fothergill series.
Ewan also suggests that this drawing was first part of the Collinson collection as the
date precludes it having been sent to Fothergill directly by William Bartram.
