Bartram has written beneath the drawing “Fumaria flowers first of April grows about
6 Inches high leaves dark green finely divided like other Species of this Genera the
flowers of a deep & beautiful yellow colour,Grows in dry Outer Shell land near the Sea
Shore Cape Fear No. Carolina” However, Corydalis halei has not been reported for
the Carolinas in recent surveys.
