Joseph Banks and his party saw this species at:
Tolaga Bay, New Zealand (23 October - 29 October 1769)
Opoorage, New Zealand (5 November - 15 November 1769)

Commonly called 'Rewarewa', this is one of the most distinctive New Zealand
trees. It grows to about 30 metres heigh and is found throughout North Island
and in the South Island at Marlborough Sound.
